The official visit to Uzbekistan of the delegation of Bashkortostan, headed by the Head of the Republic Radiy Khabirov, continues.
“Today we signed a protocol following our visit to Karakalpakstan, the largest region of Uzbekistan. Our republics have many points of contact and great prospects for joint work. We plan to closely cooperate in the field of agricultural products and textiles. We have a developed light industry, but we do not have our own raw materials - we will cooperate in this direction. We will develop interuniversity, humanitarian, and cultural relations. The Igor Savitsky Museum made a great impression on me, where many interesting paintings are collected, including the works of our countryman Alexander Burzyantsev,” Radiy Khabirov posted on his social media.
The Head of the Republic said that a permanent working group would be created with Karakalpakstan, which would develop a roadmap for cooperation.
“In total, during the visit to Uzbekistan, we planned to sign investment agreements and intentions for $200 million. There are plans to expand cooperation in the field of culture, education, and tourism,” the Head of the Republic explained.
Uzbekistan ranks 11th with a share of 2.5 percent in the total volume of the republican trade turnover. In 2021, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan amounted to $113.3 million, of which 86 percent is export. It was based on supplies from Bashkortostan of chemical industry products, rubber, wood and pulp, paper products, metals and metal products, engineering products, and other goods. The main import positions from Uzbekistan are metals and products from them, engineering products, food products, textiles, and mineral products.
