At a meeting on attracting federal funds, which the Head of Bashkortostan held today, Rustam Muratov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, noted that the development of the Bashkir Trans-Urals was of great importance.
There are three tasks to be solved here. This is the construction of the Sibay-Podolsk-Novorudnaya railway, a new digital power plant, as well as the creation of a special economic tourist and recreational zone – “Ural”.
The railway will allow delivering more than 10 million tons of ore from existing deposits to industrial enterprises in the southern Urals, and will also be a driver for the exports development by reducing the railway lines to the border of Kazakhstan by 250 km.
The planned length of the single-track railway line Sibay - Podolsk - Sara is 183 km, excluding station and siding tracks to enterprises and deposits. The estimated cost of construction and installation works is 82.7 billion rubles. According to Rustam Muratov, the project needs support and assistance in including it in the long-term development program of Russian Railways.
The Trans-Urals is also an energy-deficient region. The construction of a new power plant for 500 kilovolts (Sibayskaya-500) will meet the needs of the enterprises of the Ural UMMC and future large-scale industries that will appear here in the coming years. The amount of financing is estimated at 8.2 billion rubles.
In addition, natural attractions, well-known regional health resorts, and ski resorts are located on the territory of the Bashkir Trans-Urals. The creation of a tourist-recreational “Ural” SEZ in four districts of the Bashkir Trans-Urals will contribute to the development of inter-municipal relations, the combination of medical and recreational and tourist complexes with a multiplier effect.
Many of these issues will be discussed at the All-Russian investment Sabantuy "Trans-Urals", which will be held in Sibay on June 3 and 4.
