Reserve fund of Russian government will increase by 791.6 billion rubles
These funds will be used, among other things, to stabilize the economy, according to the order of the Cabinet.
The source of the increase in the reserve fund is additional oil and gas revenues received in 2022. The right of the government to dispose of these funds is enshrined in amendments to the law on the specifics of the budget execution of the Russian Federation in 2022, approved by the president in early March, the press service of the federal cabinet recalled.
The government's reserve fund was created to finance unforeseen expenses and measures of federal significance that are not provided for in the law on the federal budget for the corresponding financial year.
Funds from the fund are directed to socially significant purposes. For example, this year it financed monthly payments for children aged 8 to 17, the purchase of free medicines for coronavirus patients, and retraining of the unemployed.
