Bashkiria hit top popular destinations for domestic tourism, Zarina Doguzova, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency, said during a briefing.

“The top five are the Krasnodar Territory, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Region, Moscow, and Tatarstan. Further, such regions as the Crimea, Stavropol - Caucasian Mineralnye Vody, Perm Territory, Yaroslavl Region, and Leningrad Region. Also popular were Kaliningrad, Vladimir, Bashkiria with a huge sanatorium complex and Nizhny Novgorod,” Doguzova shared.

In total, 2.4 million people have used the travel cashback program since the beginning of the year. 8.4 billion rubles were returned to these tourists. In total, they purchased tours, hotel stays, or various trips for 44 billion rubles.

“Let me remind you that we had two sales windows this year. One of them was additional by decision of the Government. The program was in huge demand this year - five times more tourists used this program than last year. Therefore, there was a separate decision of the Prime Minister for an additional week, so that tourists could easily plan and purchase trips. This last extra week alone, half a million tourists used cashback. 500 thousand people is a lot. Almost recently, up to 100,000 people have used cashback every day,” Zarina Doguzova said.
