

On April 11, a delegation of the Republic of Bashkortostan began its work in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek, within the framework of the International Diversified Business Mission. According to the press service of the Government RB, the delegation included First Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activities of the Republic Lena Izotova, Director of the Regional Export Support Center Ildus Khalitov, and representatives of several republican enterprises interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with enterprises of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Within the framework of the first day, working meetings were held with the Chairman of the Board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund Artem Novikov, and the President of the open joint-stock company "Kyrgyzindustriya" Zharasul Abduraimov, the meeting was also attended by the Deputy Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in Kyrgyzstan Ainur Samanov. During the meetings, the economic and investment potential of Bashkortostan was presented, and the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between Bashkortostan and Kyrgyzstan were discussed.
“The development of trade and economic relations with the Kyrgyz Republic is one of the priority areas for the foreign economic relations of the Republic of Bashkortostan. As part of the business mission, we plan to discuss issues of enhancing mutually beneficial partnerships between business circles of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic, in particular in the field of industry, agriculture, tourism, and education. We also plan to consider the issues of “import substitution” and “import supply,” Lena Izotova stressed.
The Kyrgyz side is interested in deliveries of sunflower oil and chemical products. The Republic of Bashkortostan can be supplied with products from the textile industry - fabrics, clothing, as well as vegetables, and fruits.
In 2021, the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of Bashkortostan with the Kyrgyz Republic amounted to about $40 million, 99% of which was exports.
