Andrey Nazarov outlined focus areas on environment protection

On April 12, Andrey Nazarov spoke at the plenary session “Ecology of the Region. Industry Development Trends” of the Ecological Forum, held in Ufa. According to the press service of the government, the Prime Minister outlined the main task of the activity - the creation of the most comfortable region for living.

The Prime Minister noted that the industrial sector formed a third of the economy of the republic, and the pool of measures to support it was constantly updated in the region. At the same time, he stressed that the development of the industrial potential of the region should be considered jointly with the environmental agenda.

The first is building a unified air quality control system. In recent years, 10 automated air pollution monitoring stations have been built in Bashkortostan. In 2022, it is planned to launch two more stations.

The second direction is the systematic implementation of the garbage reform measures.

“When we started working on it, there were a lot of problems. However, already today, the coverage of the population with the service for the MSW removal is 99%. During the three years of the reform, 2.5 times more than the initial number of containers and platforms were purchased and equipped. We were included in the federal program for "separate waste". At the expense of the federal budget, 1,296 containers for the MSW separate collection were purchased. This year the work will be continued,” the Prime Minister stated.

The next direction is the creation of a waste processing industry in the republic. Here Bashkortostan is declared to participate in the federal program for large-scale projects in the field of construction, and reconstruction of waste processing facilities.

The fourth direction is implemented within the framework of the "Ecology" national project.

 “Until the end of 2024, the republic provides for the elimination of six unauthorized landfills located within the boundaries of the cities of Baimak, Blagoveshchensk, Davlekanovo, Kumertau, Sibay, and Sterlitamak. This year we received a subsidy from the federal budget for 180.5 million rubles for the elimination of a landfill within the city of Baimak,” Andrey Nazarov said.

Prime Minister RB mentioned measures to eliminate objects of accumulated environmental damage in the territory of Bashkortostan as one of the essential areas. This work is carried out in cooperation with Rosprirodnadzor.

The adaptation of the economy to the global transition to renewable energy sources was also identified as one of the key areas requiring the most serious attention.

“Our republic is one of the first among the constituent entities of the country to register greenhouse gas emissions. Bashkortostan was included in the list of pilot regions under the federal program to create a network of carbon landfills. We have real chances to be among the leading regions of the country in the development of "green" energy. It is important to strike a balance between the development of the real sector of the economy and ensuring the environmental safety of industrial enterprises,” Andrey Nazarov emphasized.
