Bashkiria will be engaged in agro-meteorological monitoring

The Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkiria signed an agreement on agro-meteorological monitoring with ER-Telecom Holding (TM Dom.ru).

As explained by the press service of the ministry, the basis for signing the agreement was the need to solve priority tasks for automating and digitalizing the agro-industrial complex of the region. The document will allow interaction in matters of agrometeorological monitoring for the sustainable development of the industry in Bashkiria.

“We understand that today it is difficult for the republic’s agriculture to develop without the active development of digital technologies,” Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government, Minister of Agriculture of Bashkiria commented. “If we implement and master digital in advance, we can reduce the dependence on weather conditions in the industry and significantly increase work efficiency.”

Last autumn, ER-Telecom and the Republican Ministry of Agriculture already launched a joint pilot project, installing two agrometeorological stations.

“The weather is changeable, but it can and should be controlled. Observation of climatic indications allows us to properly arrange the work of an agricultural enterprise, moving from a reactive response model to a proactive one, that is, when it is possible to plan certain works in advance, based on data received from weather stations,” the head of innovative projects of JSC ER-Telecom Holding Evgeny Norov said.

The Ministry of Agriculture RB is interested in developing joint activities. It is also planned to involve the Bashkir State Agrarian University in the projects to receive additional recommendations based on the data of the digital service.
