Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov spoke about changes to import legislation at a briefing.
- Investors will be able to import duty-free products needed for the implementation of investment projects. The list of industries that will be able to use the zero rate is being agreed upon.
- Significantly simplified the procedure for importing complex equipment (production lines). If earlier there had to be one transaction - one manufacturer, now it is allowed to issue different equipment from different manufacturers.
-Starting this week, import duties have been reduced on a large list of products within the Eurasian Economic Union. This has directly affected several food products, incl. baby food, vegetables. In the near future, this will be decided for non-food products. Starting from this week, copies of documents can be provided throughout the entire perimeter of the EAEU when importing products, which will significantly simplify procedures.
- A new procedure for declaring products upon import has been introduced. If earlier a large list of products required laboratory certificates, now a manufacturer or importer can import products under their own guarantees and sell them, and he undertakes to go through the procedures within six months.
- The Federal Customs Service has also simplified border control procedures.
We are developing new supply chains with our neighbors and are actively discussing new ways. In particular, on Friday I was in Uzbekistan, discussing the increase in trade and the opportunity to use the country's transit potential.
We worked out a very good scheme for three countries - Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia - "Agroexpress", when products can quickly reach our markets. Uzbekistan is working on a further direction to Pakistan - for the transportation of products. We discussed the possibilities of putting all this together within a single logistical path. Therefore, we will work on this, as well as a dozen other routes, to increase trade,” the Minister is quoted by the “Obyasnyaem.rf”.
