Alga SEZ in Bashkiria will produce riboflavin - vitamin B2

Production is planned entirely from Russian components.

The pharmaceutical enterprise Bioron LLC will be built at site No. 3 of Alga SEZ this year. Commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024. The volume of investments is announced at 1.4 billion rubles, it is expected to create 27 jobs.

The plant will produce 900 tons of products of two types of riboflavin per year: feed - for animal husbandry and poultry farming, and pharmaceutical - for dietary supplements, vitamin complexes, additives for food enrichment.

Riboflavin will be produced using biotechnology, so the operation of the plant will not have an impact on the environment, Regina Abizgildina, General Director of Bioron said. According to her, the company has planned to work on domestic components, and this is in line with the current economic situation. Previously, imported raw materials were used for the production of vitamin B2.

“Initially, the company's marketing strategy envisaged that up to 57% of its products would be exported. Now we consider our country as the main sales market. A significant segment of the market will be freed up due to the restriction of foreign supplies, and our products will undoubtedly be of interest to domestic consumers,” the company CEO said.

Bioron LLC was registered in July 2021 in the Sterlitamak region (and will be its taxpayer).

The Alga special economic zone of the industrial production type was created in Ishimbaysky and Sterlitamaksky regions in 2020. The total area of ​​the SEZ is 468 hectares. To date, 10 residents are registered in the zone. The volume of declared investments is 23 billion rubles, the number of created jobs is 1678.
