Russian Government has developed plan to support country's economy of 1 trillion rubles

The government's plan to support the Russian economy includes more than 100 initiatives, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said. According to him, the authorities' measures are estimated at about 1 trillion rubles.

Mishustin held the presidium of the government commission to increase the stability of the country's economy amid sanctions. The Prime Minister said that the government's plan is "very flexible" and it is planned to "constantly replenish and release it in stages, depending on the development of the situation."

“Now it includes more than 100 initiatives without taking into account those already adopted and being implemented. The total amount of financing is estimated at about 1 trillion rubles,” the Prime Minister said. He did not specify the sources of this funding.

Measures to support the economy began to be discussed amid new Western sanctions imposed in response to the Russian military operation in Ukraine. The government has defined the main parameters of the anti-sanction program: it is the isolation of the financial system, attempts to keep a foreign property in the Russian economy functioning, and the fight against poverty. The Ministry of Labor also promised this week to present a package of measures to keep citizens employed.
