Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov on his VKontakte page spoke about new investment projects in the field of regional tourism in Bashkiria. The head of the Cabinet believes that the imposed sanctions against Russia will definitely reduce the possibility of holidays abroad, and, obviously, increase the demand for domestic tourism.
“Here Bashkortostan has great potential, our republic has huge tourism resources. We need to strengthen its modern infrastructure, comfortable places for accommodation, and create new original routes,” Nazarov shared.
“We will subsidize business expenses for the development of new tourist routes, fishing, and ethnic tourism, and the construction of glamping sites. The latter is a new direction that has gained popularity in specially protected natural areas and geoparks. The demand for this niche from entrepreneurs is only growing. There are already investors in the republic who want to build three new glamping sites with an investment of more than 70 million rubles. One of them will appear in the Yangan Tau Geopark at a cost of about 30 million rubles.”
According to the prime minister, the republic is already preparing several applications to the federal center for additional funding for the republic's tourism industry. In addition, a cooperation agreement was signed a couple of days ago with one of the largest federal tour operators for domestic tourism, Alean.
“Thanks to their extensive agency network, we expect an additional influx of tourists from the regions of Russia. Our republican tour operators have already begun to develop new excursion routes to the sights of Bashkortostan: caving, rafting, alpine skiing, health-improving, gastronomic, horse riding, and ethnic-tours,” Andrey Nazarov noted. “The current situation in the world today can serve as a good driver for the development of domestic tourism in the republic. Last year, when the pandemic caused significant damage to the tourism industry, due to timely assistance to businesses, we managed not only to maintain the flow of tourists but also to increase it by 20%. This year, we expect that the growth will be even greater, but we need to effectively fulfill all the tasks set. That is what we are doing now."
