Tourist flow in Bashkiria can reach 4 million people year under sanctions

This year, the tourist flow to Bashkiria could increase to 4 million people under sanctions, which is about 15 percent more than in 2021. This was announced to TASS by the acting chairman of the State Committee RB for Tourism Renat Fatkullin on the sidelines of the international tourism exhibition "Intourmarket-2022".

In his opinion, an "explosive surge of interest in the republic due to sanctions" is expected, as well as the fact that the republic is surrounded by "rather densely populated territories", and the main donors of Bashkiria "in terms of tourism are neighboring regions."

“There will be an increase of at least 500,000, definitely 3.5 million people, but perhaps even 4 million,” Renat Fatkullin says.

According to the head of the State Committee for Tourism of Bashkiria, with the beginning of the May holidays, ecological tourism will begin in the republic, including along rafting rivers. However, traditionally the number of tourists will increase by August.

In addition, this year Bashkiria is participating in a pilot project on school tourism under the national project "Tourism and Hospitality Industry". The project is aimed at conducting one-day tours around the republic for students in grades 5-9.

“We have to give a ride to about 11 thousand children during the summer holidays. About 70 million rubles have been allocated for the implementation of the project, ”he added, noting the need to provide for an increase in prices for some items for vacationers.

Meanwhile, according to the results of 2021, the tourist flow to Bashkiria increased by 17 percent compared to 2020 and reached about 3.5 million people. This figure exceeded the pre-pandemic, when 2.9 million people visited the republic in 2019.

As Bashinform News Agency reported the day before, tourists spent 11.5 billion rubles on traveling around Bashkiria in 2021.

The republic became especially in demand for guests from other regions in the summer - they made 5.1 million trips to the region. The total turnover of funds in the tourism sector over the past year was 13.8 billion rubles.
