Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov met with Ambassador of Uzbekistan Botirjon Asadov.
"Uzbekistan, along with Belarus and Kazakhstan, is another our reliable partner in the field of economic cooperation. After all, in terms of the trade level, Uzbekistan is the third partner in Russia and the eleventh among 128 countries - trade partners of our republic in the world," the Head of Bashkiria posted on his social media.
At the end of 2021, the trade turnover between Bashkortostan and Uzbekistan amounted to $113 million. This is almost twice the turnover in 2017 and 2018 and 14% higher than in 2019. At the same time, most of the turnover (86%) is accounted for by exports from Bashkiria. The structure of counter commodity flows is generally very broad.
Bashkortostan supplies Uzbekistan with chemical industry products, ferrous metals and products, engineering goods, and equipment. Vehicles for land transport, textiles, and foodstuffs are imported from Uzbekistan into the republic.
"Today we have good opportunities to develop cooperation in various industries. Bashkir enterprises could participate in the modernization of petrochemical facilities in Uzbekistan, including increasing the production of hydrocarbon raw materials and launching the production of promising products in Uzbekistan. Bashkiria is ready to supply trailed, soil-cultivating, and fodder equipment to Uzbekistan. We could increase the export of biological products and bioactivated fertilizers, agricultural products - milk powder, sunflower oil, breeding stock, poultry meat, and meat products," Khabirov wrote.
The Head of Bashkiria also recalled that the republic paid great importance to cooperation development and ties in the humanitarian sphere, education, and culture. Last year, Bashkortostan sent a team of medical workers to Uzbekistan to help residents fight the coronavirus.
