At least 20 companies will become residents of Innovation Science and Technology Center of Bashkiria

Adviser to the Head of the Republic on Science, Ruslan Kazykhanov, reported on measures to create an Innovation Science and Technology Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan (ISTC). He noted that this was a new type of special economic zone, containing various types of preferences for business.

"The purpose of the creation of the ISTC is to combine and develop innovative industrial technologies, scientific, educational, technical practices to solve the priority tasks of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation. One of the distinguishing features of the ISTC is the various areas of activity at each innovation platform. ISTCs in Russia are actively engaged areas of a new living environment and adaptation of an economical solution to climate change, digital green chemistry and energy, engineering and advanced production technologies, biomedicine and genetics," Ruslan Kazykhanov said.

The creation of the ISTC in the region will contribute to the implementation of research, innovative, entrepreneurial, infrastructure projects and initiatives, which will lead to the formation of an actual portfolio of technological projects in Bashkortostan. At least 20 innovative companies will become ISTC residents. This includes large businesses, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as new businesses that will be attracted to the existing infrastructure. At the meeting, it was decided to finalize the issue of creating an ISTC in the region, using the existing experience of the SIRIUS Innovation Science and Technology Center.
