Bashkiria set historical record in housing construction

At the end of 2021, the regional statistics reported that Bashkiria set a historical record in housing construction. Last year, at the expense of all sources of financing, more than 2.9 million square meters of housing were commissioned for the first time - this is the maximum commissioning in the entire history of the republic.

“The level of 2020 in housing construction was exceeded by 18.4 percent. 725 square meters of housing have been commissioned per thousand inhabitants,” Bashkortostan Statistics Agency stated.

In the structure of housing construction, the share of housing built by the population at their own expense and with the help of loans amounted to 61.3 percent. They constructed a total of 15.8 thousand of their own houses with a total area of ​​about 1.781 million square meters. This is 18.8 percent more than in 2020.

“Developers - legal entities of the republic last year put into operation more than 1.125 million square meters of housing, which is 17.7 percent higher than in 2020,” the statisticians added.

At the end of 2021, among all regions of Russia, Bashkiria ranked seventh in the housing rating and second in the Volga Federal District. Tatarstan is in the first place of the district rating in terms of the housing commissioned (just over 3 million square meters of accommodation); Samara Region closed the top three with more than 1.8 million square meters of housing commissioned in 2021.

The top 5 regions of Russia in terms of commissioned housing included: Moscow Region, Moscow, Krasnodar Territory, St. Petersburg, and Leningrad Region, Bashkortostan Statistics Agency told our reporters.
