According to preliminary results for 2021, Bashkiria will set three migration records, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Protection RB Lenara Ivanova said at a briefing session in the government.
"For the first time in eight years, Bashkiria will end the year with a migration increase in the population. According to the results of 11 months of 2021, the migration increase amounted to 7963 people, according to statistics. For the first time since 2000, there is a positive balance of interregional migration (migration within Russia), which amounted to 265 people. In addition, for the first time in five years, the region has seen an increase in educational migration - plus 2,740 people," she stated.
As emphasized at the briefing in the republican government, interregional and international migration last year was characterized by positive trends. Experts record a steady trend in the return of residents of the country's northern regions to Bashkiria.
The most significant migration increase is observed with the regions of the Ural Federal District - plus 1486 people. Among those moving to Bashkiria are residents of the Tyumen and Chelyabinsk regions, the Khanty-Mansi, and Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Districts.
"That is, we can talk about a steady trend of returning residents from the northern regions of the country to their native region," Lenara Ivanova said.
As for the Volga Federal District regions, the largest increase was registered with the Orenburg Region - 770 people.
There is also a tendency for the return of compatriots from foreign countries. Thus, more than 6.1 thousand people came to Bashkiria from the CIS countries, about 1.6 thousand from other countries.
"The entry of the republic into the Top 5 regions of the National rating of the state of the investment climate in the regions of Russia, the implementation of investment projects, the creation of special economic zones and priority development areas affect the return of labor resources," the Minister of Labor of Bashkiria said. "According to the regional Ministry of Economic Development, over 3,000 new jobs were created last year. Of these, within the framework of the implementation of priority investment projects of the republic - about 1.1 thousand. In general, all this clearly affects the increase in the population of Bashkiria. "
As the Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov emphasized, population migration was a significant indicator of the state of the economy.
"I was pleased that we have a positive balance of students. More of them come to us. This, of course, is influenced by the fact that we have constantly been increasing the number of state-funded places in universities over the past three years. Moreover, our actions and the victory in the Priority 2030 program, the creation of the Eurasian REC — it all contributes to it," Radiy Khabirov stressed.
