

Mustai Karim Ufa International Airport is one of the best in the Russian Federation and ranks first in terms of the number of passengers in the Volga Federal District. The Head of Bashkortostan posted on his social media that the Ufa Airport served more than 3,362,000 people on domestic routes and 637,000 on international routes last year. The growth in total passenger traffic for the 12 months of 2021 compared to the pre-Covid 2019 was 12%, which was above the industry average.
Today, passengers can fly from the Ufa airport to 58 destinations, 40 of which are airlines within Russia. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Sochi, Simferopol, Samara, and Novosibirsk remain the most popular domestic destinations. Over the past year, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Makhachkala, Mineralnye Vody, Usinsk, Chelyabinsk have been added.
"In 2022, we will solve the problem of connecting direct flights from Ufa with all million-plus cities in Russia. Passenger traffic to Antalya, Yerevan, Baku, Dubai, Istanbul increased on international flights. New directions have been opened - Yerevan, Cairo, La Romana, Osh, Bishkek, Punta Cana, Hurghada, Sharm el-Sheikh, Sharjah," the Head of Bashkortostan wrote.
There are plans to complete the reconstruction of the airfield complex, improve the station square, build a hotel and combine the two terminals into a single architectural concept.
"We expect to establish air links with Vienna, Tel Aviv, Nur-Sultan as soon as the sanitary and epidemiological situation allows.
