The foreign trade turnover of Bashkiria for 11 months of 2021 amounted to 4 billion US dollars, which is 21% higher than in January-November 2020. With reference to the Federal Customs Service, such data was announced on Monday at a briefing session in the government by First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of the region Rustam Muratov.
"Our trading partners are more than 100 countries of the world," the first vice-premier of the republican government stated. "At the end of 2021, we hit the list of leaders among the Russian regions, having introduced 14 instruments out of 15 of the Regional Export Standard 2.0, which is designed until 2024. Already today, the percentage of implementation is 92.6%. This is one of the highest rates among the constituent entities of Russia," he stressed.
"Representative offices of our republic have been opened in Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Belarus in the form of a representative office of the Congress Bureau. A roadmap has been developed for each representative office with specific KPIs in two areas. In the second quarter of 2022, it is planned to open a representative office in Uzbekistan", the Minister of Economic Development of Bashkiria said.
At the end of this week, a trip to the West Kazakhstan region is planned, where the issue of creating a multimodal trans-logistics hub on the territory of Bashkiria will be discussed.
"This initiative can become one of the largest joint projects," Muratov said. "In general, the work we have done has already had a positive effect. For example, we can single out Turkey; the trade turnover has doubled due to an increase in the supply of sunflower oil, butanol, plywood, and office furniture. Trade with the United States rose to $110 million, with South Korea - up to $63 million.
As the Head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov noted, the republic has achieved "very good indicators" in terms of exports. According to the Head of the Region, it is essential to develop external relations. The nearest plans include a return visit to Kazakhstan. The trip of the Bashkir delegation to Kazakhstan is scheduled for March 21-31.
