Industrial production index amounted to 107.5% in Bashkortostan at year-end of 2021

The industrial production index of Bashkortostan at the year-end of 2021 amounted to 107.5%, which is 2.2% higher than the nationwide average.

The Minister of Industry of Bashkiria Alexander Sheldyaev announced it at a briefing session in the region's government on Monday, February 7.

The Minister noted that this was the highest growth rate of the index in a decade.

"Bashkortostan maintains high positions in the production of certain types of industrial products and is a leader among Russian regions in the production of diesel fuel, food and soda ash, benzene, xylene, car trailers and semi-trailers, and other types of products. Of the 29 industrial types of economic activity, 21 showed growth in production volumes. We should focus on industries with the highest growth rates: the production of medicines and materials used for medical purposes increased by 2.4 times; production of paper and paper products - 2.3 times; furniture production - 1.7 times," Sheldyaev said.

The manufacturing industries, which were identified as growth drivers and which were provided with systemic support, reached the level of index growth of 8% at the end of the year.

At the same time, there is a negative trend in several sectors of the industry, which make up a low share in the index. In particular, in the textiles industry, due to the fall in the market for cars, services in the field of mining - due to a decrease in orders.
