Russian Railways plans to launch new passenger train "Ufa - Kazan"

Another vital area of ​​work of Russian Railways in Bashkiria is passenger transportation. The head of the Kuibyshev Railway, Vyacheslav Dmitriev, said that in 2021 the number of passengers in the republic amounted to 3.7 million people (112.7% by 2020), of which 3 million in suburban traffic. In many ways, this became possible due to the opening of new routes. Thus, since April 2 last year, a new suburban train was launched on the "Ufa - Kumertau" route by the rolling stock "Orlan". Since September 28, the route has been extended to Orenburg. More than 115,000 passengers have been transported since the beginning of the service. On the Western Express, which started its first flight today, the company plans to launch the Lastochka train in the near future. This will attract an additional 50,000 passengers annually.

"This is our ambitious task. Soon we plan to launch Lastochka on the Ufa-Aigir and Ufa-Magnitogorsk-Sibay routes. This train can reach speeds of up to 160 km per hour. The expected passenger flow will be up to 180 thousand people. The launch of a new passenger train between Ufa and Kazan is under development to meet the population's needs in transport links between Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. The estimated travel time is 15 hours. The further target value of travel time is 12 hours. The train will depart from Ufa in the evening and arrive in Kazan in the morning," the head of the Kuibyshev Railway said.
