Over the last month of 2021, citizens placed more than 20 billion rubles on fixed-term deposits and current accounts.
As the National Bank RB experts explained, the December growth is traditionally the highest in the year. It is associated with bonuses at the end of the year and early payment of pensions and other social payments due to extended holidays in early January.
In general, over the past year, the amount on deposits and accounts of residents of Bashkortostan increased by 4% to 452 billion rubles. Including escrow accounts, the volume increased by 9% to 489 billion rubles. The trend compared to 2020 remained practically unchanged - 5% and 8%, respectively.
Experts predict an increase in citizens' interest in deposits. Following an increase in the Central Bank's key rate, interest on deposits is growing. The average maximum deposit rate in the country increased from 4.5% in January 2021 to 7.7% in January 2022.
