Russian Government will allocate 1.8 billion rubles to support aviation industry

The Russian Government will allocate 1.8 billion rubles to support the aviation industry within the framework of state programs, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting in the Cabinet on January 31.

“The development of industries that have the competence to build the entire line of modern and competitive aircraft is an exceptional state priority. Only with their help will we be able to link the territories of our great country. This is the task that the President sets before us,” the Prime Minister said.

Additionally, several key aviation projects of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the United Engine Corporation (UEC) will be financed.

One billion rubles is intended for the creation of a wide-body long-range aircraft. This will help the development of the engineering center and speed up the preparation for the certification of a new aircraft and the organization of its after-sales service system.

More than 600 million rubles will be channeled to finalize the regional liner Il-114 — about 180 million rubles - to develop the TV7-117 engine for it.

“It is essential to ensure efficient spending of public investments. Certainly, the best assessment of such work will be the contracts signed with air carriers for the supply of Russian aircraft,” the Prime Minister pointed out.

The UEC includes the Ufa Motor-Building Production Association and the Ufa Motor enterprise, which were merged into one company in 2017.
