This was announced by the General Director of the "Ufa" International Airport, Alexander Andreev, at a briefing session in the government of Bashkiria on Monday, January 31.
With the commissioning of the new terminal for domestic airlines, the area of the terminal complex has grown to 29,106 sq. m; the capacity has doubled - up to 1200 passengers per hour.
"Under such conditions, Ufa Airport will be able to increase passenger traffic without restrictions for several years. The level of passenger service corresponds to class "C" (Optimum) according to the IATA classification," Andreev explained.
Also, the sterile zone and the premises for pre-flight inspection of sector "A" were doubled.
In addition, a second check-in hall for departing passengers was put into operation in the domestic airlines terminal. Seven check-in counters operate, including an oversized baggage counter and one baggage belt.
In 2022, new flights are planned to operate to Omsk, Perm, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk, Irkutsk, Namangan, Nur-Sultan, Alma-Ata, Tel Aviv, and Vienna.
