Bashkiria becomes one of leaders in cooperation with Kazakhstan - Russian Trade Representative

Trade Representative of Russia in Kazakhstan Andrey Babko, at a meeting of the working group on the cooperation development between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan, noted that the goods of Bashkortostan manufacturers were already available on the shelves of retail outlets in Kazakhstan, including in the first supermarket of Russian goods "Matryoshka", which was opened in December 2021.

"84 regions of Russia cooperate with Kazakhstan, and Bashkortostan is now becoming a leader. If we launch one joint project each year in the territory of Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan, then this will be an outstanding result of cooperation," Andrey Babko said.

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Bakhyt Sultanov stressed that all the agreements reached during the visit of the Bashkortostan delegation in the autumn of 2021 remain in force.

Deputy Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Kairat Torebaev noted that one of the platforms for discussing long-term plans could be the annual Russian-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum, which is held by the heads of the two states.

"Kazakhstan is also ready to increase the export part. We have prepared a list of goods that could be supplied to the market of Bashkortostan. Their volume is 27 million dollars. This will help increase our mutual trade turnover," Kairat Torebaev said. "We have an acceleration program that encourages companies to enter foreign markets. We are ready to use your platforms to introduce our enterprises to the Bashkortostan market more widely."

He called on the companies of Bashkortostan to make more active use of the Trade and Economic Cooperation Center being created in the West Kazakhstan region.
