Radiy Khabirov: long-standing Bashkir-Kazakhstan ties, business cooperation continue to gain momentum

Mutual trade between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan for 11 months of 2021 exceeded the pre-pandemic 2019. In 2020, foreign trade turnover amounted to $296.9 million, following the results of 11 months of last year - $365 million. At the working group's first meeting on the development of cooperation between Bashkortostan and Kazakhstan, these figures were announced by the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov. The meeting was held online.

"It is important that long-standing Bashkir-Kazakhstan ties, business production cooperation continue to gain momentum, create conditions for new ambitious projects, which we will willingly support," Radiy Khabirov stressed.

According to the Head of the Region, among the joint projects of the most significant interest in the near future, one can single out the construction of a plant for deep wood processing in Bashkortostan and a chemical cluster creation based on Caustic in Pavlodar.

In 2020, in the foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan with 122 trading partner countries, Kazakhstan ranked third with a share of 7.3%, among the CIS countries - first with a share of 34%.

There are hundreds of types of products in the assortment of trade turnover. Bashkortostan supplies Kazakhstan with oil and chemical products, herbicides, mineral fertilizers, soda ash, caustic soda, rubber, woodworking products, glass, rolled ferrous metals, building materials, oilfield equipment, transport equipment, and other products. In turn, the republic imports rolled steel, raw materials for mineral fertilizers, equipment, flour, and cereal products.
