Bashkiria ranks 8th among regions in spending on COVID treatment

Bashkiria in 2021 took 8th place among the regions in terms of spending on covid treatment - residents of the republic purchased drugs for 1.62 billion rubles, RBC Ufa reports according to the Chestny Znak system. Arbidol became the most sought-after medicine - the Russians spent 16.8 billion rubles on it. In the same list, the immunomodulator interferon-alpha-2b, favipiravir, dexamethasone, methylprednisolone are prescribed by doctors to treat coronavirus infection.

In January - June 2021, the average cost of hospitalization of one patient with COVID-19 was 135.4 thousand rubles in Russia, and the treatment of a patient with non-communicable diseases cost 41.5 thousand rubles.

In Bashkiria, the average cost of treating a COVID patient amounted to 83 thousand rubles in hospitals in January-November 2021. In 2020, the average bill was 105.5 thousand rubles, the publication reports.

In polyclinics, the average cost of medical care for patients with or suspected coronavirus in 2021 amounted to 844.2 rubles; it increased by 314.5 rubles compared to 2020.

According to the Federal Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund for Bashkortostan, the number of funds on accepted accounts of medical care provided to people (having insurance) with a disease or suspected COVID in January-November 2021 amounted to 7.3 billion rubles — 16.8% more than in the whole of 2020 (6.27 billion rubles).
