If the growth in the number of personal investment accounts slowed down compared to 2020, the amount of funds on them increased by a third.
In 2021, the number of personal investment accounts opened by residents of the republic increased by 40% to 155.6 thousand. According to this indicator, the region ranks first in the Volga Federal District and fifth in Russia, according to the Moscow Exchange.
Private investors were more active in 2020. The number of personal investment accounts then more than doubled, reminded the National Bank of the Republic of Bashkortostan. This growth was caused primarily by lower interest rates on bank deposits and the search for alternative ways to increase funds. In addition, quarantine restrictions have accelerated the development of online services for quick and easy account opening.
In 2021, the increased interest of citizens in investment accounts began to decline gradually. On average, residents of the republic opened 3.5 thousand new personal investment accounts per month against 5 thousand in 2020. At the same time, the total amount of funds on brokerage accounts, which includes personal investment accounts, grew by a third in the first nine months of last year compared to the same period in 2020, to 101 billion rubles, the National Bank RB reported.
