Bashkiria ranks 5th in Volga Federal District in food and processing industry products shipment

Bashkiria took 5th place in the Volga Federal District in the shipment of goods of the food and processing industry in the first 11 months of 2021. Business entities sold products worth 119 billion rubles in January-November. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture RB Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.

Agricultural producers meet with a surplus the needs of the republic in dairy products (125%), beef (120%), pork and eggs (106% each, however, even in 2020, it was less than 100%), potatoes (112%), fresh cucumbers (106% ). In the republic, sugar is produced four times more than it needs, vegetable oil - 7 times more.

Poultry meat is produced by 72% of the demand, flour and flour products - by 60%, cheeses, vegetables, and cereals - by 28.5%. These are points of growth for small and medium-sized businesses, Ilshat Fazrakhmanov noted.

Such goods as bakery products with long shelf life (+79%), vegetable oil, semi-finished meat products, powdered milk and cream, beef and lamb, cheeses, and cottage cheese showed promising growth.

A decrease due to a slowdown in purchasing activity is observed in sausages (production amounted to 92.8% compared to last year), milk, except for raw milk (96.5%), butter (92.7%). Due to the reduction in the production of raw materials due to the drought, the production of flour (66.2%), cereals (93.3%), and sugar (70.3%) decreased, the Deputy Prime Minister informed.

“We started this work from sixth place in 2021. This was a very low indicator for the territory with the largest population in the district, with huge gross yields of milk, meat, and grain. We set the task – second or third place. There is our first step. However, the potential is much greater,” Radiy Khabirov said.

The authorities of Bashkiria are paying more and more attention to projects on the deep processing of agricultural products - this is much more profitable than trading in raw materials. It is unacceptable that products made from our milk, grain, and meat are imported. All added value should remain in the region, the Head of Bashkiria added.
