Bashkiria's economy starts new year after recovering from coronavirus - Khabirov

The economy enters 2022, recovering from the coronavirus and its adverse effects. This was stated by the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, during an extensive final interview on December 28.

"The industrial production index for the third quarter of 2021 amounted to 106.2 percent in 11 months, plus by 2020. These are manufacturing, furniture production, production of metal products, engines, and buses. Measures aimed at improving the investment climate did not go unnoticed. The business gained its confidence; enterprises started to emerge in the republic. As of October 1, investments increased by 3.2 percent compared to last year in Bashkiria. I am sure that the figure will be higher - all measures to attract investment were really effective", Radiy Khabirov said.

The Head of Bashkiria spoke about the launch of the Dyurtyulinsky dairy plant; the Chekmagushevsky plant is to be launched soon.

"The Kumertau enterprise works in three shifts; orders have been received. It develops machine-tool building; this is the highest level of the industry," Radiy Khabirov said.

He also shared plans for the shipping industry development in the republic.

"The work of a shipyard is a matter of prestige. We can make vessels; however, there is no growth there yet – it just has come out of bankruptcy," he said.
