Hard decisions had to be made during pandemic - Radiy Khabirov

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, admitted that decisions related to introducing restrictions on business were difficult. He stated this during an interview on December 28.

The Head of the Republic explained that the authorities had an understanding of the most challenging conditions for business, but there was no other way out.

“It was a forced measure. We chose a balance: on the one side - the health of people and the desire to stop the massive spread of the virus, and on the other side - the economy,” he said.

Radiy Khabirov recalled that a large package of support measures was provided for businessmen to compensate for the expenses and minimize the negative consequences they received.

Currently, in Bashkiria, the number of small and medium-sized businesses has remained at the level of 2019.

“We can say that this sector of the economy has gone through a difficult period, and we have not basically lost our enterprises. Support measures were thought out, many funds from the budget were also directed within the instructions of the President of the country. They helped the business to survive to some extent. The most important thing is that we have learned to combat the coronavirus, people are vaccinated, we have learned to live with it - this is the most important thing, ” Radiy Khabirov said.
