Central Bank will monitor money transfers between individuals since 2022

Tatyana Aksyutina

According to RBC, in the new form of bank reporting, among other things, the personal data of senders and recipients of funds are requested.

The bank is interested in the following p2p transfers: from card to card, from account to account, from e-wallet to e-wallet, from card to wallet and vice versa, from a subscriber's account to a wallet or card and vice versa, payments through the Fast Payment System, transfers abroad, money transfers without opening an account, including through payment terminals of payment agents, transfers of an individual between their own accounts within the same credit institution, transfers through money transfer systems, such as Western Union, Contact, etc.

 According to the Central Bank, in the first nine months of 2021, citizens transferred about 42.5 trillion rubles to each other using cards, having made almost 8.5 billion transactions. Sberbank occupies the leading share in the card transfer market. Since the beginning of the year, more than 0.8 billion transfers worth 4.7 trillion rubles have been processed through the system of quick transfers.

The Central Bank attributed several "anomalies" to the signs to identify suspicious payment instruments, among them:

- an unusually large number of counterparties - individuals as both payers and recipients of funds, for example, more than ten per day and more than 50 per month;

- a vast number of transactions for crediting and debiting funds, carried out with individuals, for example, more than 30 transactions per day;

- significant volumes of transactions between individuals to write off and credit funds, for example, more than 100 thousand rubles per day, more than 1 million rubles per month.
