In November, the annual growth rate of food prices was 11.13% after 10.68% in the previous month. As the analysts of the National Bank of Bashkiria explain, this is mainly due to the growing costs of agricultural enterprises and the reduction in the supply of certain types of food.

For example, the dry summer in the region resulted in a low yield of forage and grain crops. At the same time, there was a shortage of imported vitamin and amino acid supplements for animal husbandry due to global logistical problems. This was the main reason for the decline in meat and milk production in the region, which led to an acceleration in the annual growth rates of prices for beef, dairy products, and poultry meat.

In turn, an increase in the costs of meat and milk processors for the purchase of primary raw materials, as well as increased production costs due to the rise in the cost of equipment, containers, and packaging, influenced an increase in the growth rate of prices for sausages, semi-finished meat products, cheeses, butter, and fermented milk products.

High external demand for domestic chocolate sweets and chocolate ensured the expansion of exports of products from Russian confectionery factories. This increased the annual growth rate of prices for chocolate products.

At the same time, the effect of the high comparative base of the previous year continues to determine the growth prices for sugar and sunflower oil. Last year, these products significantly increased in price due to reduced crops and processing volumes of sugar beet and sunflower. Therefore, the current annual growth rates for sugar and sunflower oil prices have slowed down. In addition, the government's measures of the Russian Federation in the form of export duties on sunflower oil contributed to the expansion of the supply of this product in the domestic market and restrained the growth of its cost.

The shift in the current year to earlier dates of the start of the heating season due to cold weather in the European part of the country caused an increase in energy costs for greenhouses in the first half of autumn. In November, in connection with the return to the comparability of the base of the expenses of greenhouses, there was a decrease in the annual rate of prices growth for tomatoes and cucumbers.
