Bashkiria Business Ombudsman is preparing initiative to abolish QR codes in republic

At the beginning of 2022, the Business Ombudsman of Bashkiria Flyur Asadullin plans to come up with an initiative to abolish QR codes in the republic. He announced this at a press conference at the Bashinform News Agency.

As Flyur Asadullin told reporters, now there is a process of collecting information from business ombudspersons in other country regions, where QR codes have already been canceled.

"QR codes have now been canceled in Belgorod, Kaliningrad regions, Primorye, and in a couple of other regions. If we do not have the notorious omicron, I plan to bring all the information I have gathered to the region's leadership. I am for the abolition of QR codes in the Republic of Bashkortostan," the Business Ombudsman emphasized.

Several factors influenced this decision, he said. Among them is the abolition of QR codes in several regions of Russia and "new restrictions related to the vaccination of employees who serve in the retail sector" recently adopted in Bashkiria.

"Thirdly, I carefully look at the reports of the Ministry of Health on the number of vaccinated, on the number of cases, and I see a positive trend. If after the New Year, these figures do not change for the worse, I will come out with a proposal to abolish QR codes," the Business Ombudsman of Bashkiria stated.
