Bashkortostan Development Corporation CEO: 13 more companies may become potential residents of Alga SEZ

Yesterday, the presentation of the V National Rating of the Investment Attractiveness of Economic Zones (SEZ) of Russia took place in Moscow, according to the results of which the Alga SEZ was recognized as the most fast-growing and "discovery of the year" among the special industrial economic zones at the end of 2021. In total, the ranking assessed 27 SEZs from 21 regions of Russia. Note that in 2021, SEZs created over the past two years were assessed for the first time, while the same requirements apply to new special economic zones as to the existing ones.

 Recall that in 2021, 5 companies became residents of the SEZ "Alga", in total, since the creation of the special economic zone, 10 companies have received a resident status.

 “We plan not to reduce our pace and increase activity in attracting new projects to the territory of the special economic zone, as 13 more companies are considered as potential residents of the Alga SEZ, the investment portfolio of which is estimated at 45.5 billion rubles.  Besides, it is planned creation of about 1,452 new jobs ", Nail Gabbasov, General Director of the Bashkortostan Development, noted. “In general, we support 90 projects that have passed through Investment Hour sessions with the Head of Bashkortostan, including residents of the Alga SEZ. The special economic zone is also promising because it also has a free customs zone, where equipment and raw materials used in production are not subject to customs duties, ” he added.
