Head of Bashkiria: We will not create second SEZ; we will expand one operating near Ufa

At the moment, there are ten residents at the Alga SEZ; 11 more are still in operation with a plus of investments of 33 billion rubles. By the middle of next year, we will have already distributed all the remaining land, which is about 120 hectares, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov noted today in Moscow at a press conference in the TASS agency.

"After that, we will immediately apply for the expansion of the territory; we are now preparing a package of documents. Large investors, of course, prefer to localize their businesses around large centers. We were approached by several such investors who asked about the SEZ status near Ufa. We will not create a new special economic zone; we want to move to a higher technological stage, to more complex solutions, such as creating innovative research and technological center. I believe that we will develop in this direction, " Radiy Khabirov said, answering a question from the Bashinform News Agency about the prospects for the Alga special economic zone development.

The SEZ Alga was established in the territory of the Ishimbaysky and Sterlitamaksky districts on May 27, 2020, by the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 764. The total area of ​​the SEZ is 468 hectares. Currently, the Alga register of residents includes ten companies. The special economic zone consists of four separate sites with a total area of ​​468 hectares. It uses the principle of placing enterprises according to the cluster type with a grouping according to three parameters: industry affiliation, the similarity of technologies, and raw materials base. Residents are provided with engineering and transport infrastructure: roads and railways, electricity, gas, water supply, and sewerage.
