

Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved a law to increase the minimum wage to 13,890 rubles.
The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
It will enter into force on January 1, 2022.
Earlier it was reported about the planned increase in the minimum wage to 13617 rubles; the deputies approved the bill in the first reading. Vladimir Putin proposed an amendment - to increase the minimum wage to 13,890 rubles. Deputies and senators adopted the amendment and provided it in the federal budget for 2022-2024.
As Putin noted, the increase in the minimum wage "will affect the growth of many social benefits, including payments to families with children and pension supplements, will serve as a guideline for the establishment of wages in the economic sectors."
From January 1, 2021, the minimum wage is calculated in a new way - based on the median salary.
Thus, the minimum wage this year is 42% of this value or 12,792 rubles.
