Bashkiria is preparing to transfer 350 kilometers of highways to federal ownership

Bashkiria is preparing to transfer several sections of regional highways with a total length of about 350 kilometers to federal ownership. First Deputy Minister of Transport and Roads of the Republic of Bashkortostan Viktor Zhulkov informs about it.

The Orsk - Sibay - Magnitogorsk - Yuzhnouralsk highway is in a high degree of readiness for transfer, 133 kilometers of which passes through the territory of Bashkiria. It includes sections of the Akyar-Sibay, Akyar-Novocherkassk highway, and part of the Magnitogorsk-Ira section.

This route has already been included in the plan for the long-term development of the public highways network of federal significance for 2028. The required package of documents for Bashkiria and the Orenburg region is 100 percent ready; the documents for the Chelyabinsk region are expected to be prepared by the end of this year.

The second highway being prepared for transfer is the Ufa-Perm, with a total length of 216 kilometers across Bashkiria. A feasibility study is being designed for it, and the necessary documentation is being drawn up.

As Viktor Zhulkov specified, the Russian Ministry of Transport supports the transfer of the highways mentioned above into federal ownership.

So, in 2020, a part of the Ufa-Orenburg road from the junction on the M-5 highway to the turn to the Airport was transferred to federal property. 60 million rubles were annually allocated from the budget of Ufa to maintain this site. Now, these funds can be used for other needs of the city.

At present, the total length of federal highways passing through the territory of Bashkiria is 800 kilometers, regional - 13.5 thousand kilometers.
