Business plan of Alga SEZ resident for 5 billion rubles was approved in Bashkiria

A plant for the production of catalysts for petrochemicals will be built in the special economic zone.

The Expert Council of the Alga special economic zone has approved the investment project of "Olimex" LLC, which plans to produce catalysts for petrochemical processes. This was reported by the press service of the regional cabinet.

The project is based on fundamental research results in producing competitive low-tonnage chemical products, which have an excellent prospect of entering international markets. The volume of investments is about 5 billion rubles, 75 new jobs will be created at the enterprise.

According to Andrey Alyabyev, director of Olimex LLC, the company plans to start the project in 2022. Production is to be launched in 2024. It is assumed that up to 75% of products will be supplied to the domestic market, 25% - for export.

"Such projects of low-tonnage chemistry are a priority for the development of industry and have a comprehensive impact on the development of related sectors of the economy. Following the instruction of the President of Russia, the volume of production of low-tonnage and medium-tonnage chemicals compared to 2020 should increase by 70% by 2030. I believe that the project reviewed today is unique, as it has no analogs in the country. We, of course, will make every effort to support this project," Ilshat Tazhitdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria, Chairman of the Expert Council of the SEZ, commented.

To date, nine residents are registered in the Alga SEZ. The volume of announced investments is 18 billion rubles, the number of jobs created is about 1600.

Olimex LLC was registered in the village Naumovka, Sterlitamak District, in June 2021.
