More than 30 thousand Audi cars are recalled in Russia due to problems with airbags
Incorrect operation may destroy the gas generator casing.
The Volkswagen Group Rus company announced the recall of 31,270 Audi A4 and A6 vehicles sold from 2005 to 2011. The press service of Rosstandart reported this.
The reason for the recall was problems with the front passenger airbag made by Takata. There is a possibility that when this airbag is triggered, the gas generator casing can collapse, and small metal fragments of the casing can fly apart and, in some cases, injure the driver and passengers.
The front passenger airbag module will be replaced on all vehicles. All works will be carried out free of charge for the car owners.
