Tax payments of small businesses increased by 40% in Bashkiria

Although the number of SMEs did not increase compared to last year, tax payments of small businesses increased by 40% in Bashkiria. At the moment, there are 121.8 thousand in the Unified register of small and medium-sized companies: 117,043 micro-enterprises, 4,445 small, and 321 medium-sized ones. This was announced by the head of the State Committee for Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Bashkortostan Niyaz Fazylov at a briefing session in the government. At the end of 2020, there were 122,197 SMEs in the register.
As of January 1, 2019, there were 140,566 small and medium-sized businesses in the region (growth in 2018 was +956).
The economic crisis explains the decrease in the number of SMEs in the state committee and the transition of a significant number of sole traders to self-employed - the latter's register has doubled in eight months (compared to 2020) 58.5 thousand people.
The number of newly created SMEs this year amounted to 18.5 thousand.
In terms of small and medium-sized businesses, Bashkiria ranks 3rd in the Volga Federal District and 11th in the Russian Federation.
The number of people employed in small businesses has grown - from 432 thousand people in 2020 to 437 thousand at the end of August 2021.
Since the beginning of 2021, the unified imputed income tax (UNDV) has been abolished. Introduced in 1998, this type of tax was most often used in the retail and service sectors and helped avoid complete control of profits by the Federal Tax Service. Most of the entities have switched to the "simplified" system.
Tax collection increased by almost 40%: in January-August, small and medium-sized businesses paid 8.4 billion rubles of taxes to the treasury (in 2020, this amount was 6 billion rubles, in 2019 - 6.7 billion rubles).
85% of all revenues come from the tax levied under the simplified taxation system (7.18 billion rubles, in 2020 - 4.8 billion rubles).
Professional income tax revenues increased more than ten times - from 8.6 million rubles for eight months of 2020 to 93.4 million rubles for January - August 2021.
The volume of state support for small businesses in Bashkiria this year amounted to 1 billion rubles. In 2020, 2.31 billion rubles were allocated to support the business. Traditionally, the most demanded support measures are financial ones.
