Ufa became one of pilot regions where electric transport infrastructure is being revived

Deputy Mayor of Ufa Marat Gaifullin explained that the broken northern and southern tram lines affected the system's carrying capacity. Today they serve less than 10 million passengers a year.

"Previously, this infrastructure worked for the more than 70 million runs per year. The only way out is to participate in federal programs, invest in the unification of the north and south parts of the city, and upgrade the routes. Ufa is among the 13 pilot regions of the country where the transport infrastructure will be revived. According to preliminary data, 34 billion rubles will be allocated. Now the study is underway with an understanding of where, how, and what investor the funds will be directed to," Marat Gaifullin explained.

The most painstaking work is related to the economic justification of the resuscitation of the tram traffic in the capital. The city authorities, together with experts, carry out research work. In case of incorrect calculations, the city will have to pay the difference in funds that the investor will not receive.
