Radiy Khabirov: We will commission Ufa Eastern Exit ahead of schedule, as promised

Today the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov examined the progress of the highway construction from the Ufa Eastern Exit to the federal highway M-5 "Ural". Asabali Zakavov, General Director of Bashkir Concession Company LLC, said that the construction of a temporary public bypass road was completed as part of the road junction construction at the intersection of the Fedorovka-Shaksha road and the Eastern Exit.
Radiy Khabirov also examined the progress of bridge construction across the Ufa River. According to the chief engineer of Limakmarashavtodorogi Aleksey Khavilov, the readiness of the bridge crossing is 25%. In total, it will be necessary to erect six supports and mount about six thousand tons of steel structures of the span across the Ufa River.
The construction of the crossing assumes two separate opposite traffic directions, two lanes in each, the width of each of the lanes will be 3.75 meters. The work is proceeding strictly according to the schedule. The completion of the monolithic works and the sliding of the steel structures of the superstructure will be completed in 2022.
"The scale of the construction is impressive; 2,400 people and 170 units of equipment work here at the same time. Five thousand nine hundred tons of metal for the bridge have already been delivered to the site. We plan to reach 40 percent readiness by the end of the year, significantly ahead of the originally approved schedule. We are proud of this project. The entire Eastern exit, as promised, will also be completed earlier by the end of 2023. The project provides exit roads from the Eastern Exit - Fedorovka - Shaksha and the M5 highway. We also provided for overpasses crossing the highway over the Eastern Exit so that residents could conveniently get home and to summer cottages. In terms of financing the construction, everything is going well too," the Head of Bashkortostan noted.
The Eastern Exit project envisages constructing a road tunnel more than 1.2 km long, the construction of a bridge over the Ufa River with an overpass section of more than 2.6 km, and a 10-km section of a toll highway with direct access to the M5. The project is being implemented within a concession agreement concluded in 2017 between Bashkir Concession Company LLC (the concessionaire is part of VTB Infrastructure Holding) and the Republic of Bashkortostan (concession company), as a public-private partnership. The term of the concession is 25 years. The Eastern Exit is the largest infrastructure project in the republic. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2024.
The Eastern Exit became the first project in Russia that successfully passed the certification according to the IRIIS system developed by VEB.RF, having received the "Gold" level of achievement. The certification showed that during the implementation of the project, the concessionaire Bashkir Concession Company LLC rationally used natural resources. The direct commissioning of the facility will also have a beneficial effect on the environment. Thus, it is expected that the volume of emissions of the main pollutants emitted from moving vehicles will decrease by 35%, greenhouse gases - by 27%.
