Student campus cost may amount to 18 billion rubles in Ufa
The creation of a student campus of the Research and Educational Center (REC) will require financing in the amount of 18 billion rubles, the Chief of Staff of the Head of Bashkiria, Alexander Sidyakin, said at a briefing session in the government of the republic. The project will be implemented in three stages, he noted.
The first one is the Skolkovo IQ Park, which should be ready by the end of this year or in the first quarter of 2022. The building with an area of 36 thousand sq. m will house the infrastructure for entrepreneurship - coworking spaces, digital libraries, start-up studios. Benefits for technopark residents are guaranteed by federal legislation.
The second stage is related to the so-called central core, which will appear on the site of the former Kirov plant. The production buildings will be dismantled there. The design of the future campus has already begun at the expense of the republican budget. The central core of the campus will occupy an area of 2.3 hectares.
Completion of the central core is planned by the end of 2024. The total area will be 73 thousand square meters. It will include 2.5 thousand accommodation places for students and teachers, as well as a conference hall, classrooms, world-class laboratories (in the field of genetics, geophysics, photonics, digital technologies), a gym, a food court.
The third stage is a village with rental housing for teachers, including those invited. It is planned to build it with the participation of private investors, with whom negotiations are now underway, Alexander Sidyakin reported. The completion of the third stage is expected by the end of 2025.
Up to 60% of the construction costs of the REC campus - 10 billion rubles, may be covered by a federal grant. Alexander Sidyakin named the Zhejiang Conservatory and the Vienna University of Economics as examples of world-class student campuses.
