Today, in the Khaibullinsky district, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, held a visiting meeting of the emergency operations center to discuss the tactics of eliminating forest fires in the Trans-Urals.
According to the chairman of the republican State Committee for Emergency Situations, Farit Gumerov, in 2021, 310 forest fires with a total area of 6,840 hectares were recorded in Bashkortostan. A total of 271 units of equipment, 1,101 people from forest fire units, federal and regional fire services, as well as volunteers were involved in eliminating them.
“This year, the number of forest fires has increased by 184 compared to 2020. The total area of the affected forest lands has also increased by 1,840 hectares,“ Farit Gumerov said. “As of August 10, the main outbreaks are located in Khaibullinsky, Zilairsky, Burzyansky, Zianchurinsky, Abzelilovsky districts. The forces and funds of large mining companies were attracted to help the Ministry of Emergency Situations and forest fire services for their localization”.
The Head of Bashkortostan ordered to organize stable telephone and radio communications in the Trans-Urals to coordinate the work of emergency services and volunteers. The corresponding equipment will arrive here this week.
“It is necessary to create a single republican volunteer center with local branches, to conduct training by the training and methodological center of the Ministry of Emergencies. We should provide volunteers with overalls, fire-fighting equipment, and medical support. These should be trained people, ready to mobilize in a matter of hours and fight the fire element, helping the Emergencies Ministry forces and forest fire services, ” Radiy Khabirov stated.
The Head of the Region also instructed to develop legislative initiatives aimed at protecting forests from deliberate arson, to toughen the punishment for such destructive activity.
Before the meeting, the Head of Bashkortostan talked with firefighters, locals, and volunteers who work to extinguish forest fires and answered their questions.
As of 18:00 on August 10, 29 forest fires are still active in Bashkortostan on a total area of 3428.8 hectares.
Through joint efforts, 19 forest fires were localized on a total area of 2,929.7 hectares. 5 seats of fire were completely eliminated. Nevertheless, new fires were recorded - so, during the day, 2 new fires were registered in the Beloretsky and Uchalinsky districts.
Fire fighting continues. The total grouping of the attracted forces and means is 1299 people and 291 pieces of equipment.
