Bashkiria plans to attract about 500 foreign visa workers to work

The republican interdepartmental commission on the attraction and use of foreign workers approved the applications of 37 employers planning to attract 484 foreign employees from countries to the republic requiring a visa.

"Providing employers with a workforce is not only one of the main tasks of today, but also the biggest challenges. Today everyone needs human resources", Minister of Family, Labor, and Social Protection RB Lenara Ivanova outlined the region's position during a working meeting with the Director of the Bureau of the International Organization for Migration in Moscow, Mr. Abdusattor Esoev. "We are interested in making up for the lack of labor resources to maintain the given rates of development of the republic's economy."

Employers need specialists in the field of construction, trade, and public catering, which were later approved at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission to determine the need to attract foreign workers to the Russian Federation.

Mr. Esoev called Bashkortostan one of the regions with an actively developing migration policy. He spoke about the interest of the International Organization for Migration in expanding ties with a network of partner regional public organizations to improve the efficiency of migration management. As he noted, this will minimize the socio-economic impact of the pandemic on migrants and bring profit to local businesses.

Foreign workers are attracted to the Republic of Bashkortostan from 7 countries in the following order:

from Turkey - 58, Vietnam - 49, China - 14, Thailand - 10, Mongolia - 3, Serbia - 3, Philippines - 2. According to the Ministry of Labor of Russia, taking into account the exhaustion of the quota reserve, consideration of proposals to increase the quota in 2021 will be carried out if the constituent entities of the Russian Federation simultaneously submit proposals to reduce it.
