Tourist flow in Yangan-Tau Geopark doubled

In the Yangan-Tau Geopark, the tourist flow this year has doubled compared to 2020; on weekends, up to 5 thousand people visit it.

At a briefing session in the government of Bashkiria, First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development Rustam Muratov said that in 2022 three infrastructure facilities should be commissioned in the Yangan-Tau Geopark: the Mechetlino geological museum complex, the "Karavanserai" ethnographic complex, historical and cultural complex "Salavat ery". The budget should allocate 700 million rubles for their construction. This year, the treasury has allocated 50 million rubles. “We plan to get positive expert opinions and start implementation in 2022,” Rustam Muratov said.

In the Yangan-Tau Geopark, 18 objects are planned to appear within the framework of private investment projects in 2021-2025. Their implementation will require, preliminary, 435 million rubles. In addition to accommodation, roadside service, and catering, these are hunting and trout farms, a vehicle rental facility, including horse-drawn carriages and bicycle stagecoaches, an amusement park, a water park, and an extreme tourism center.

Yangan-Tau is the first geopark in Bashkiria and the first in Russia to be included in the UNESCO network, created in 2017.
