Construction of plant for processing hydrocarbon gases has begun in Alga SEZ

The construction of an installation for processing hydrocarbon gases into aromatic hydrocarbons begins at the Alga SEZ, the Ministry of Industry of Bashkiria reported. The resulting products will be used in the production of drugs, plastics, and dyes.

The investment project is being implemented by the DOGA financial group, which is part of the group of companies with LLC Bitumen, LLC Salavatmetall, and Production Association Sovremennnye Bitumnye Materialy. The volume of investments is estimated at 2 billion rubles, the launch of the unit is scheduled for 2023.

The project will help reduce refinery emissions. “The main commercial products of this unit are benzene and toluene-xylene fraction - residual hydrocarbon gases formed during oil cracking. By means of catalysis, they are converted into aromatic compounds, which are the most important raw material for the synthesis of valuable substances in the chemical industry,” the Minister of Industry of Bashkiria, Alexander Sheldyaev commented on the issue.

At the moment, the preparation of the construction site has begun on the territory of the Sterlitamak district.

The Alga SEZ of industrial-production type was created in the territory of Ishimbaysky and Sterlitamaksky districts in 2020. The total area of the SEZ is 385.2 hectares; today, more than 50% of the area is occupied. The residents have significant tax and customs benefits, the creation of external infrastructure, and a well-developed network of road and railways.
