Unemployed number decreased by 16 percent in Bashkiria

The total number of unemployed in Bashkiria has decreased since the beginning of the year by 16 percent - to 94.2 thousand people, the press service of the republican government said.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed registered in employment centers has also decreased - by 2.2 times since the beginning of the year - to 47 thousand people.

"The revitalization of the labor market is facilitated by government programs aimed at reducing the unemployment rate," Yuri Melnikov, First Deputy Minister of Family, Labor and Social Protection of Bashkiria, said.

The most demanded of these state programs at the moment is subsidized hiring.

An important tool for stabilizing the situation in the labor market is the Complex of Measures to Restore the Number of the Employed Population of Bashkiria in 2021. The activities of this "road map" are aimed, among other things, at employment and preservation of employment. This is primarily about the workers most affected by the spread of COVID-19 and the creation of new and preservation of existing jobs.

In addition, thanks to the program to stimulate employers to hire the unemployed, it is planned to employ 8.5 thousand people.

So far, about 900 enterprises and organizations have announced their participation in the program. In total, they offered more than 5 thousand vacancies. To date, over 800 people have been employed by 526 employers.

About 2.8 thousand more applications were received from potential participants in the program for the retraining of citizens. More than 3 thousand people are planned to participate in it.

It relates to people of pre-retirement age, women who are on parental leave, young mothers with preschool children who were not officially in labor relations, and those looking for work through the employment service.

Applications are now being screened for eligibility.

“In total, more than 11 thousand people will take part in such additional events, with the maximum amount of allocated funds. This will reduce unemployment in the republic and achieve the values of target indicators to pre-pandemic levels,” Yuri Melnikov concluded.
