194 million rubles will be allocated to support tourism facilities in Bashkortostan

In Bashkortostan, 194 million rubles will be allocated to support tourism facilities as part of the third anti-crisis package to improve the economy's stability.

Support will be provided to projects to develop geoparks, adjacent territories of ethnic settlements, ethnic villages, ethnic estates, guest houses decorated in the national style, campgrounds, and new tourist routes.

According to the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency, the volume of paid services in tourism in the Republic of Bashkortostan amounted to 4.8 billion rubles at the end of 2020, which is less than the level of 2019. On the other hand, the number of backpacker tourists has increased in the republic - three times compared to the previous year.

There are about 370 travel agencies and tour operators in Ufa. There is an increase in travel agencies that work for domestic and inbound tourism in the capital and an increased interest of entrepreneurs in the tourism industry.

The tourism development in the Republic of Bashkortostan is considered in the context of the road network, transport services, roadside services, the development of protected areas, hotel services, and gastronomy, cultural events, and museums, health resort organizations, which leads to attracting tourists to the Republic of Bashkortostan.

"We have a whole pool of areas that we plan to develop actively. In terms of increasing the investment attractiveness of Bashkortostan, this is, first of all, the creation of a "Ural" special economic zone, the development of an investment attractiveness map for tourism projects with their subsequent placement on the investment portal of the republic, an audit of land plots for glamping sites in the region - at least 100 land plots marked on the investment portal of the Republic of Bashkortostan," Elmira Tukanova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Tourism said.

Currently, the department is developing a comprehensive strategy for tourism development in the republic until 2035. According to expert estimates, the tourist flow to the region by the end of the year may exceed 3 million people.
