State Corporation VEB.RF will help Bashkiria to modernize passenger transportation network in Ufa

The cooperation agreement between the government of the republic and the State Development Corporation VEB.RF, which was signed yesterday at the Petersburg International Economic Forum, will help Bashkiria to modernize the passenger transportation network in Ufa.

VEB.RF will take part in the creation of a single public transport operator for the Ufa agglomeration. This will result in optimization of the route network and comprehensive passenger traffic development.

"I am confident that our joint systemic actions will allow us to create a high-quality transport infrastructure in Ufa that meets all modern standards. Together we can make the life of people in the republic comfortable and safe," Radiy Khabirov stated.

"Comprehensive reform of passenger transport in the Ufa agglomeration is one of the priorities for the region's development. VEB.RF fully supports the strategy of Bashkortostan and is ready to participate in the reform actively. The republic, together with the state corporation, has developed a roadmap, including, in particular, the restoration of the broken tram network of Ufa, the modernization of the trolleybus network, and the renewal of the rolling stock of passenger transport. All this will significantly improve transport links in the Ufa agglomeration and provide a new quality of transport services for the population," Oleg Govorun, Deputy Chairman - Member of the Board of VEB.RF said.
